Moderator:
Narges Bajoghli is the faculty lead and associate professor of Middle East Studies at Johns Hopkins SAIS. She also serves as the co-director of the SAIS Rethinking Iran Initiative.
Panelists:
Ibrahim Al-Assil is a political scientist and Middle East scholar. He is a research fellow at the Middle East Initiative at Harvard University and leads the Syria Project at the Atlantic Council.
Karam Shaar is an economist who founded Karam Shaar Advisory Ltd. He serves as a nonresident senior fellow at the New Lines Institute and the chief economic consultant at the resident coordinator's office of the UN in Damascus.
Charles Lister is a senior fellow and the director of the Syria Initiative at the Middle East Institute, where he focuses on Syria, terrorism, and insurgency across the Levant.
