Description
Please the "Trans Justice in the Carceral System" panel discussion, organized by the Critical Diaspora Studies undergraduate working group. This event will bring together a variety of experts to discuss their experiences in this topic, including:
- Iya Dammons from Baltimore Safe Haven
- Nicole Morse from University of Maryland, Baltimore County
- Arianna Lint from Arianna's Center
- Vesla Weaver from Johns Hopkins University
The hope is for the audience to learn more about trans justice, trans contributions to carceral scholarship, the impact of Donald Trump banning gender-affirming care within prisons, the intersection with migration detention, and more.
