Description

Featuring Emi Ferguson, flute; Ah Young Hong; John Lenti, theorbo; and Miranda Cuckson, violin, "Unwrung" stages a dialogue between the visual arts and music in antiquity and modernity, exploring questions of historical reconstruction and the aestheticization of violence across time and artistic media.

A group of extraordinary musicians perform a program of Debussy, Lassus, Hersch, Machaut, Strozzi, and Zand.

Reception to follow.

This event is made possible with support by the Deans of Krieger School of Arts & Sciences; the Deans of The Peabody Institute; the departments of Classics, Composition and History of Art; and the Singleton Center for the Study of Premodern Europe.

Organized by Jennifer Stager (Krieger School of Arts and Sciences) and Michael Hersch (Peabody Institute).
