Description

Chris Celenza, dean of the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences at Johns Hopkins University, will participate in a plenary panel discussion on navigating the challenges of open inquiry on college campuses as part of the Heterodox Academy Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference.

Celenza will be joined for the discussion by Susan Rivera, dean of the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences at the University of Maryland, and Prabhudev Konana, dean of the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland.

The two-day conference—which includes a welcome reception on Friday, Sept. 26, and a full day of programming on Saturday, Sept. 27—will explore the the role of universities in promoting open inquiry and will bring together attendees from across the region. The event is co-organized by the Heterodox Academy campus communities at the University of Maryland- College Park, Johns Hopkins University, Virginia Tech, the University of Virginia, UNC Chapel Hill, UNC Charlotte, and N.C. State University.

Heterodox Academy is a nonpartisan membership organization for faculty, staff, and students who want to ensure that universities are places where intellectual curiosity can flourish.
