Advancing Patient Safety and Health Care Quality: Bridging Research, Policy, and Implementation
Description
The Johns Hopkins Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety and Quality, in partnership with Patients for Patient Safety US (PFPS US), is pleased to host this solutions-driven symposium. Bringing together experts from Johns Hopkins Medicine and PFPS US with key representatives of health systems, government, and industry as well as policy and patient groups, this event is designed to spark initiatives to reduce preventable harm and improve health outcomes.
Experts from diverse sectors will engage in facilitated work groups to prioritize actions in three key areas: diagnostic excellence, patient experience, and systems design. Groups will consider the best use of artificial intelligence and advanced technologies, roles of financial and policy incentives, priorities for research, and implementation of best practices.
The day will conclude with an interactive panel session followed by a rooftop reception with panoramic views of Washington, D.C. Priorities identified at the symposium will drive a clearer understanding of strategic investments needed to support health care improvements and opportunities for ongoing collaborative action will follow.
