Description

The Sexual Assault Resource Unit (SARU) will be holding a relaxing, fun, and educational event for Valentine's Day to raise awareness about intimate partner violence during a time that can be sensitive for survivors. The event has a picnic theme, so food will be present. Attendees can also make Valentine's Day cards and engage in other educational activities with SARU to win free prizes.

SARU is a student-run advocacy group that supports survivors of sexual violence and works to dismantle rape culture. SARU has trained a group of Hopkins students, Sexual Assault Resource Connectors (SARC), to provide a safe space to talk about, and find resources for, sexual violence, assault, domestic violence, gender-based discrimination, and more. Anyone can attend SARC drop-in sessions.
