The Rise in Adolescent Social and Health Inequalities Amid the COVID-19 Pandemic: Research Results
Description
This event, hosted by the Global Early Adolescent Study, will explore the profound impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on adolescent social and health inequalities. As the world navigated lockdowns, school closures, and economic disruptions, young people, particularly from marginalized communities, faced significant challenges. Researchers will examine how the pandemic exacerbated issues such as mental health, access to education, food security, and health care as well as how these disparities continue to affect adolescents in the post-pandemic era. Attendees will gain insight into the intersection of social determinants of health, systemic inequities, and consequences for youth development.
