Description

The Johns Hopkins (9-1) football team will host Grove City (9-1) in the second round of the 2024 NCAA Division III football playoffs at Homewood Field. The winner will advance to the third round on Dec. 7 to face either DePauw (Indiana) or the winner of a first-round game between Berry (Georgia) and Maryville (Tennessee).

In this season's expanded 40-team bracket, Johns Hopkins and Grove City were two of the 24 teams that earned a first-round bye. This will be the first meeting between the Blue Jays and Wolverines.

Johns Hopkins is making its 13th appearance in the DIII NCAA playoffs. The Blue Jays are 12-12 all-time in playoff games, including a run to the 2018 NCAA semifinals and trips to the quarterfinals in 2009 and 2023

Grove City is making its second consecutive playoff appearance. The Wolverines advanced to the second round of the tournament last season with a 21-20 win at Susquehanna, then lost 25-24 to eventual national champion Cortland.
