Pava Center for Entrepreneurship

Description

Are you curious about how startup founders got started? Are you unsure how your major connects to starting your own business or joining a startup? Are you currently exploring what your summer internship or post-grad plans could look like? If you answered YES to one or more of these questions, this session is for you.

The Pava Center is bringing together several esteemed guests to share a bit about their undergraduate experiences and how their experiences led to their successes today. There will be a very short panel to learn about the guests, their undergraduate experiences, and what they are currently up to. After this brief intro, you'll have the opportunity to connect in smaller rooms with each guest to ask questions, network, and explore what may appear to be nonlinear career paths.

Guests:

  • Kevin Carter, director of business development at EcoMap (undergraduate degree: international affairs)
  • Liz Bower, co-owner of Liz and Ryan Photography, former co-owner of Well Crafted Pizza, and current senior events planner at Johns Hopkins Technology Ventures (undergraduate degree: business administration and management)
  • Leah Hairston, founder and CEO of Sweet Bee Services, senior health equity consultant at the National Black Child Development Institute (undergraduate degree: psychology)
