Description

Join the Centre Louis Marin for Interdisciplinary French Studies in this screening of the French film Rodeo, directed by Lola Quivoron. The film is in French with English subtitles.

Synopsis:

Hot-tempered and fiercely independent, Julia (Julie Ledru) is a gearhead who thrives in hostile environments and turns every situation to her advantage. Her obsession with the high-octane world of urban rodeos—illicit gatherings where riders show off their bikes and latest stunts—sparks a chance meeting with a volatile clique. The heroine strives to prove herself to the ultra-masculine gang and is left wondering who she can trust. Based in part on Baltimore's own bike culture, Rodeo took the "Coup de cœur" award at Cannes in 2022.
