The U.S.–Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce, International Trade Administration, the U.S. Department of Commerce, and the Johns Hopkins Science Diplomacy Hub invite you to the Green Finance Leadership Summit: Heading to COP29.

As Azerbaijan prepares to host the global climate conference known as COP29 this November, green finance will play a vital role in mobilizing the resources needed for sustainable and environmentally friendly projects. In alignment with the goals of COP29, this summit seeks to unite key stakeholders from the public and private sectors, as well as the scientific community, to discuss and promote the critical role of green finance and data-driven decision-making in combating climate change.

Conference agenda:

  • 8:30–9 a.m.: Registration
  • 9–9:15 a.m.: Introduction and welcoming remarks
  • 9:15–9:45 a.m.: Keynote address: "The Importance of Green Finance in Achieving Global Climate Goals"
  • 9:45–10:45 a.m.: Session 1: "Mobilizing Resources for Sustainable Projects"
  • 10:45–11 a.m.: Coffee break
  • 11 a.m.–noon: Session 2: "Transitioning to Low-Carbon Economies: Enhancing Sustainability and Reducing Financial Risks"
  • Noon–1 p.m.: Lunch break
  • 1–2 p.m.: Session 3: "Data-Driven Decision-Making and Capacity Building"
  • 2–2:15 p.m.: Closing remarks
