Description

How can racial healing be achieved at a time when political and social divisions across the country run deep? Hahrie Han takes up this question in conversation with Robert P. Jones and special guests Chuck Mingo and Jess Knight.

Please join the next Authors & Insights event, as Hahrie Han, political scientist and inaugural director of the SNF Agora Institute at Johns Hopkins, discusses her new book, Undivided: The Quest for Racial Solidarity in an American Church, with Robert P. Jones, president and founder of the Public Religion Research Institute and author of the New York Times bestseller The Hidden Roots of White Supremacy and the Path to a Shared American Future.

Hear the inspiring story of Pastor Chuck Mingo and Jess Knight as they and other evangelicals in a Cincinnati congregation struggle to bridge racial divides in their own church, their community, and across the nation. Han's book chronicles the formation of Undivided, a national movement for racial reconciliation borne out of a sermon by Chuck Mingo, a Black pastor at a predominantly white evangelical megachurch who delivered a call to action for parishioners to combat racial injustice.

Authors & Insights is a series of in-depth conversations with some of today's most compelling authors and thinkers exploring the issues that matter most in our world today. The pre-event reception and book signing starts at 5:30 p.m.; program begins at 6:15 p.m.
