For special accommodation needs, please email publicinnovation@jhu.edu.

Summer Scholars are exceptional Johns Hopkins graduate students recruited from across the university to support transformative public innovation in city government related to climate equity and neighborhood revitalization.

About the Summer Scholars Program:

The Summer Scholars program places talented and motivated Johns Hopkins graduate students in partner cities to contribute to public innovation and civic engagement projects curated to inspire students' passion for careers in government. The program runs for 10 weeks during the university's summer break (June through August), and students receive a stipend and funds to cover travel costs to the host cities. BCPI identifies potential city partners, then works with cities to scope embedded projects that offer mutual benefit for host cities and Johns Hopkins graduate students.

About BCPI:

BCPI works to advance public sector innovation across the globe by marrying cutting-edge practice with world-class research to transform the culture of government, deliver exceptional results for residents, and inspire trust in public service. Launched in 2021 and in partnership with Bloomberg Philanthropies, the center is home to new and active programs like the Bloomberg Cities Network and Innovation Training that help advance cities across the globe.
