Description

Anders Engberg-Pedersen, a professor of comparative literature at the University of Southern Denmark, will give a talk titled "Martial Aesthetics: War, Scenarios, and the Securitization of the Novel." The event is sponsored by the Alexander Grass Humanities Institute and the Department of Political Science.

Engberg-Pedersen is also director of the Nordic Humanities Center and chair of Humanities at the Danish Institute for Advanced Studies. He is the author of Empire of Chance: The Napoleonic Wars and the Disorder of Things (Harvard University Press, 2015) and Martial Aesthetics: How War Became an Art Form (Stanford University Press, 2023).
