The Johns Hopkins Center for Global Women's Health and Gender Equity, in collaboration with the Women's Economic Empowerment Hub at Kenyatta University and the University of Nairobi, hosts "Current Topics in Gender Equity and Gender-Based Violence (GBV): A Spotlight on Kenya."

The event includes brief presentations and a discussion with Johns Hopkins' Kenya-based collaborators spanning partners, scholars, and implementers to reflect on research, policy, and progress. Michele Decker, professor and founding director of the Center for Global Women's Health and Gender Equity, will give opening remarks. Topics include:

  • the evolution of GBV policy and practice in Kenya
  • interventions to prevent violence against women and girls
  • recent survey research including technological abuse and help-seeking
