Advanced Grant Writing Workshop
Description
Sri Sarma, professor of biomedical engineering and vice dean for graduate education and lifelong learning at the Whiting School of Engineering, is offering an interactive Advanced Grant Writing workshop on writing specific aims pages (or vision and goals introductions) for grant proposals. Sarma has an excellent hit rate, and workshop attendees will learn the strategies for writing an effective proposal. This is a hybrid workshop.
The Advanced Grant Writing: Specific Aims Workshop is tailored for anyone preparing to submit a National Institutes of Health (NIH) or National Science Foundation (NSF), including Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and other translational grants, for the first time or who has not been successful with grant submissions.
Faculty members will facilitate a group discussion during the workshop, evaluating each component of the specific aims section to ensure it is clearly stated and compelling. By the end of the workshop, you will understand how to approach and write your specific aims section and proposal in general.
For Johns Hopkins faculty, this workshop can be paid for using Johns Hopkins's Tuition Remission benefits, meaning that there is no cost for Johns Hopkins faculty and staff. The only requirement for receiving tuition remission benefits is completing this form.
