Description

The Peabody Laptop Ensemble serves as a meeting point between acoustic and electronic instruments and various technological devices such as laptops, phones, and Arduinos; musicians from various backgrounds have the opportunity to participate and collaborate together in music-making that is unique to the 21st century.

In this multi-part recorded lecture, viewers will learn about the history of the Peabody Laptop Ensemble and the growth of the electronic music program at Peabody with Peabody Conservatory professor Lyn Goeringer, see demonstrations of vintage and cutting-edge tools used in digital music-making with student Colton Arnold '24, and hear a collection of works performed at the Peabody Laptop Ensemble's spring concert. Following the broadcast, celebrated pianist and Peabody alumnus Robert Hitz '82 will moderate a live Q&A with Goeringer.

Please attend the event by joining the livestream.
