Description
On April 23, the Senate, following passage by the House in March, passed a bill called the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act, dubbed by observers as the TikTok bill. The bill would force ByteDance, TikTok's parent company, to sell their shares in TikTok or the application would be banned in the U.S.
Anton Dahbura, executive director of Johns Hopkins Information Security Institute and co-director of the Johns Hopkins Institute for Assured Autonomy, will discuss the policy, national security, and data privacy implications of this bill and then open the floor to audience questions.
The event is hosted by IDEAL (Inform, Discuss, Enlighten, Acknowledge, and Learn). Food and refreshments will be provided.
