Description

Darcie Draudt-Véjares, a fellow for Korean studies in the Asia Program at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, will give a talk titled "Beyond Birth Rates: South Korea's Policy Response to Demographic Aging" as part of the East Asian Studies Speaker Series, co-sponsored by the Department of Political Science and Program in International Studies.

Examining how demographic shifts shape policy priorities and challenges, Darcie Draught-Véjares will explore the multifaceted implications of population aging, low birth rates, and shrinking workforce on South Korea's domestic politics and international engagements. By analyzing the evolving discourse and policy responses to demographic decline, she will analyze South Korea's efforts to address this pressing issue within the context of its broader socio-political landscape and regional relations.
