Hopkins Dining's Picnic for the Planet
Description
In celebration of Earth Day 2024, students can enjoy a luxury outdoor picnic featuring a sustainable dinner and sustainable activities during this exciting celebration.
Guests will need to register by April 17 via the Transact Mobile Ordering App to participate.
In the event of inclement weather, the event rain date is April 23 from 5 to 7 p.m. Those registered will be notified in advance of the event if it has to be moved.
Schedule:
- 5–5:30 p.m. Hors d'oeuvres hour
- 5:30–6:30 p.m. Buffet-style dinner
- 6:30–7 p.m. Activities
Menu:
- Epic spring salad—tomatoes, avocado, spinach, mango, and cucumber with zingy herb dressing
- Whole grilled salmon filet with lemon caper butter sauce
- Chicken cacciatore
- Vegan fried squash blossoms with vegan pesto (vegan entrée)
- Panache of local vegetables
- Rosemary roasted fingerlings
- Table-roasted s'mores for dessert

Steps to Download the App
- Download the Transact Mobile Ordering app from the App Store or Google Play 2 Select Campus: "Johns Hopkins University-Homewood"
- Login with your JHED-ID
Steps to Purchase Your Ticket
- Open the Transact Mobile Ordering app
- Select the "Hopkins Café"
- Select "Picnic for the Planet 2024" and then select the next "Picnic for the Planet 2024"
- Click "Customize" at the bottom of the screen.
- Select any dietary preferences, select "none of the above" if these do not apply.
- Click "Next" to continue to allergies and foods that you must avoid; select "none of the above" if these do not apply.
- Click “Add to Order"
- Select "Checkout"; once at checkout, change the order date at the top of the screen to Monday, April 22. If wrong date is chosen it will create an error in your reservation. Your payment will be taken out of your account the day of the event.
- If not paying with a meal swipe: Select the “Board Meals MO” line at the bottom to change your payment to Dining Dollars, Guest Pass, or J-Cash.
- If paying with a debit/credit card: Select the "J-Card" icon to add your card information.
- Select "Pay or Confirm" once complete.
- When you get to the event, show the cashier your receipt and J-Card.
