Description

Join Health Promotion and Well-Being for the Out of the Darkness Walk. Johns Hopkins affiliates and local community members are welcome.

Doors open at 9:30 a.m. at the Ralph S. O'Connor Center for Recreation and Well-Being for on-site registration, activities, resource tables, and grab-and-go breakfast. The 2.3-mile walk will take place around the perimeter of the campus.

This annual gathering is held to support mental health awareness, suicide prevention, community connectedness, and hope. The purpose is for all members of the university community to know that they are not alone and that Johns Hopkins cares about their well-being.

Student Health and Well-Being and Benefits & Worklife encourage faculty, staff, students, families, and friends to support AFSP's mission to save lives and bring hope by walking or raising funds.

To make this event a success, you are asked to do three things:

  1. Save the date: Saturday, April 13, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  2. Sign up today at afsp.org/jhu. Registration is free. You can sign up as an individual participant or create/join a team (e.g., Johns Hopkins school, department, club, group, in memory of/in honor of).
  3. Help promote the walk: The event is open to the entire Johns Hopkins community, as well as to friends and partners in the Baltimore and D.C. areas. Share the flyer with friends, family, colleagues, students, alumni, and neighbors.
