Description

Angela Hancock, an independent group leader at the Max Planck Institute for Plant Research, will give a talk titled "Molecular Mechanisms of Adaptation to Novel Environments" for the Biology Department.

An organism's metabolism and growth are determined by a complex interplay of environmental signals and interacting molecular pathways. Angela Hancock's lab investigates how molecular response systems evolve in new and changing environments. They combine population genetics, functional genomics, computational modeling, and gene editing to deconstruct and reconstruct the molecular steps that enable adaptation to extreme environments.

This is a hybrid event; to attend virtually, use the Zoom link.
