Description

What can Shakespeare's plays teach us about modern-day politics? Hear what SAIS Professor Eliot A. Cohen thinks in this upcoming event about his new book The Hollow Crown: Shakespeare on How Leaders Rise, Rule, and Fall. This book reveals how the battling princes of Henry IV and scheming senators of Julius Caesar can teach us to better understand power and politics today.

The talk will be followed by a show-and-tell display of Shakespeare treasures from Sheridan Libraries Special Collections, including three rare versions of Hamlet.

All are welcome to a reception immediately following the program, hosted by the Friends of the Johns Hopkins Sheridan Libraries. Cohen will be autographing copies of his book, which will be available for purchase from East City Bookshop representatives.
