Do you know the material of your water service line? The Baltimore City and County Department of Public Works wants to know.

The upcoming Hot Topics with HEAT! February Town Hall will delve into the urgent issue of lead contamination in the water supply of Baltimore, shedding light on the challenges Baltimoreans face and highlighting the collaborative efforts between Baltimore City and Baltimore County in addressing this pressing concern.

Panagis Galiatsatos, a pulmonary doctor at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, will moderate the discussion with a distinguished panel of experts:

  • Paul Sayan and Justin Hall, representing the Baltimore City and County Department of Public Works, who will provide insights into the current state of affairs and the actions being taken to mitigate lead exposure
  • Marguerite Woods, a valued member of the Baltimore community, who will share her firsthand experiences and perspectives
  • Natalie Exum, an esteemed professional from Johns Hopkins University's Environmental Health and Engineering Department, who will offer valuable insights into the environmental and health implications of lead exposure
