We cordially invite you to attend the JHU Science Diplomacy Hub event "Energy, Science and Security: The Dutch Approach" organized in collaboration with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg Center at 555 Pennsylvania Avenue NW in Washington, D.C.
This Science Diplomacy event will occur from 4 to 6 p.m. on Jan. 25 and feature expert talks by:
- Luuk Hoefsloot, Economic Security Counsellor, Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Washington, D.C.
- Yury Dvorkin, Professor in the Departments of Civil and Systems Engineering and Electrical and Computer Engineering, Johns Hopkins University
- Marcella Kneppers, Senior Advisor | Innovation, Technology and Science in Energy & Climate, Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Washington, D.C.
- Ben Hobbs, Professor in the Department of Environmental Health and Engineering, and Director of Electric Power Innovation for a Carbon-free Society Center (EPICS), Johns Hopkins University
The speakers will address the topics of:
- The Dutch National Technology Strategy focused on Energy & Climate including the role of economic security
- ROSEI's EPICS Center work at the intersection of science and policy/diplomacy to develop methods to enable a 100% emissions-free power grid
- Energy security policies in the U.S. compared to the Netherlands; JHU collaboration with the Netherlands on electricity market and policy design
