Berlin-based Colombian singer-songwriter Lucrecia Dalt—whose work bridges experimental sound, avant-garde art, poetic songwriting, speculative fiction, and Latin American popular traditions—will join Marcelo Nogueira, an assistant professor of Spanish and Portuguese in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures, for a conversation about her poetics and creative process, her discography, the new album, and the broader intersections of sound, culture, and literature in her work. The discussion will take place alongside a curated listening session of tracks from Dalt's albums, played directly from vinyl records.

The Goldwater Scholarship seeks to identify and support college sophomores and juniors who show exceptional promise of becoming the next generation of research leaders in STEM fields. Awards are made annually, with each scholarship providing a maximum of $7,500 per year for tuition, fees, books, and room and board. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents; be sophomores or juniors in an eligible field of study (natural sciences, mathematics, engineering); intend to pursue a PhD and a career in research; and have significant research experience.
