Description
Gender-transformative interventions, which seek to critically examine gender norms to increase gender-equitable attitudes and behaviors, may be particularly relevant for very young adolescents. While gender socialization starts at birth, early adolescence is a critical point of intensification of gender attitudes and beliefs, as puberty reshapes perceptions and expectations of self and social expectations from others.
Join the Global Early Adolescent Study for an informative discussion on the insights from the study's recently released research supplement, share lessons learned from two gender-transformative interventions, and look at implementation and impact among adolescents.
The Global Early Adolescent Study is a partnership between the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, the World Health Organization, and UNFPA.
