Maternal Mental Health in the U.S.: Practical Considerations for Our Lives and Communities
Description
Although pregnancy can be a special and exciting time in a woman's life, up to one in five will experience Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADS)—such as anxiety, depression, or bipolar. Not only do untreated PMADS affect a woman's ability to live fully and enjoy her pregnancy, they also increase her risk for obstetrical complications and can compromise the wellness of her baby and family.
Join Emese Parker to learn more about the state of maternal mental health in the U.S. and recent national policy developments, as well as practical tools, tips, and resources to support women in your personal life and public health work.
This event is hosted by the Bloomberg School of Public Health, Alumni Relations.
