Description

Situated between Hampden and Roland Park in North Baltimore, Hoes Heights is a neighborhood with a small footprint but an important history. Jennie Chaplin, the 2022-2024 Slavery and Justice Curatorial Fellow for Inheritance Baltimore, will lead a discussion on the history of Hoes Heights with special guests Joanne Kent and Eleanor Matthews, descendants of Grandison Hoe, the farmer and freedman who founded the neighborhood in the 1830s.
