Description

Youth and adolescents who identify as LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or questioning, and more), and especially those who identify as transgender, are often at greater risk than their peers for physical and mental distress, including higher rates of homelessness, housing insecurity, physical violence, and anxiety and depression. Transgender young people can face discrimination in their communities, which makes seeking and receiving care even more difficult, and this discrimination can take place in individual or family relationships or laws passed by state and federal governments.

Join Will Cole of The Trevor Project and Iya Dammons of Baltimore Safe Haven for a conversation on the needs of transgender youth and how the current political and social climate impacts the mental and physical health of this community. Learn more about the speakers.
