Ilaria Mazzocco: "China: A Growing Power"

Description
Ilaria Mazzocco, a senior fellow with the trustee chair in Chinese business and economics at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, will discuss China as a growing power. This lecture is part of the Aronson Center for International Studies' and the International Studies Leadership Council's 2023 Speaker Series: Emerging Threats in the New World Order.
As China's economy continues to grow, what should we expect in the coming years? How is China's growth affecting pollution levels? What climate policies should be implemented and why? Mazzocco will also examine a comparative study of China and other economic powers like the U.S.
Mazzocco holds a PhD from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), where her dissertation investigated Chinese industrial policy by focusing on electric vehicle promotion efforts and the role of local governments, as well as a master's degree. Learn more about the speaker.
