RIC Career Workshop: Academic Publishing
Description
The Program in Racism, Immigration, and Citizenship will hold a workshop about careers in academic publishing featuring Kate Marshall, senior editor at the University of California Press, who acquires books in anthropology and food studies.
This workshop will be geared toward providing graduate students with tips and information about how to envision and launch a career pathway in academic publishing, including the different roles and tasks within university presses. The event will also be of interest to PhD students considering publishing in the humanities and social sciences with a university press and who want to learn more about the publishing process. Moderated by Christy Thornton, assistant professor in the Sociology Department and Program in Latin American, Caribbean, and Latinx Studies.
