Description

The Department of Hematology will conclude Sickle Cell Disease Awareness Month with a Celebration of 100 Years of Patient Contributions to Sickle Cell Disease Research at Johns Hopkins, including a celebration and remembrance of Mr. John and Brett Paul, brothers whose courageous participation in sickle cell disease research helped lead to the first FDA-approved therapy for sickle cell disease.

Special guests include U.S. Sen. Chris Van Hollen of Maryland, a leading champion for federal funding for research and treatment of sickle cell disease.

A reception will follow the event.
