Description

Branville Bard, vice president for public safety for Johns Hopkins University and Medicine, hosts a town hall forum to share information about the initial draft of the proposed memorandum of understanding (MOU) between Johns Hopkins and the Baltimore Police Department and to answer questions from the community. This is part of the process of establishing a Johns Hopkins Police Department.

Sept. 28 update

The full, live presentation and facilitated Q&A discussion for this event has been moved to a livestream format. Members of the community are invited to either watch the livestream in-person in Turner Auditorium or online on the Johns Hopkins public safety website. A recording of the town hall will also be available on the public safety website. These actions are to ensure that members of our community who would like to learn more about the draft MOU, ask questions, provide feedback, and participate in a constructive dialog can do so.

Participants can submit feedback and questions to the panel through the public safety website, via email at publicsafetyfeedback@jhu.edu, and by text messaging (443) 464-0832.

Volunteers will also be on hand in Turner Auditorium during the livestream to collect handwritten questions and feedback.

For those who attend in-person, the following requirements have been put in place:

  • Registration and ID are required for entry; those who have not pre-registered at Eventbrite will be able to register onsite.
  • Signs, megaphones, and liquids are permitted only in the designated protest area outside of the auditorium.
  • Bags are subject to inspection.
