Description

Suicide remains one of the leading causes of death worldwide, according to the World Health Organization's estimates. As a family member, friend, or colleague, you may be faced with someone in your life who is at risk of suicide. How will you recognize the risk and what should you do?

Jay Sandys, a licensed psychologist, author, and executive coach, will provide guidance on:

  • Separating myth from fact about suicide
  • Recognizing the warning signs of suicide
  • Learning the dos and don'ts for helping others
  • Gaining tools and resources to help yourself

This session will be offered twice.

If you or someone you know has been impacted by suicide or thoughts of suicide, please know that you are not alone. Free, confidential counseling support—for you and your loved ones—is available 24/7/365 by calling the Johns Hopkins Employee Assistance Program (JEAP) at 1-888-978-1262.
