Emily Levine is a historian and Associate Professor of Education at Stanford Graduate School of Education. Her latest book, Allies and Rivals: German-American Exchange and the Rise of the Modern Research University explores the evolution of higher education in the United States and Germany during the nineteenth century through post-World War II. She will be interviewed by Daniel Porterfield, president and CEO of the Aspen Institute and former president of Franklin & Marshall College.
This event is free and part of the online book conversation series Academic Innovation for the Public Good, organized by Stanford Digital Education and Trinity College. Each event features an author of a recently published book exploring the role of colleges and universities in addressing society's problems.
