April Awareness Speaker: Jules Gill-Peterson
Description
During its April Awareness pride month, the Diverse Sexuality and Gender Alliance (DSAGA) invites speakers in hopes of informing people both within and outside of the LGBTQ+ community about that community.
On April 25, Jules Gill-Peterson (she/her), an associate professor of history at Johns Hopkins, will give a talk titled "History and Harm: The Unfinished Trans Story of Johns Hopkins Hospital" on the history and legacy of the Gender Identity Clinic and transgender medicine at Johns Hopkins.
Gill-Peterson is the author of Histories of the Transgender Child (published by the University of Minnesota press in 2018), which received a Lambda Literary Award for transgender nonfiction. She also serves as a general co-editor of TSQ: Transgender Studies Quarterly.
All in-person events at Johns Hopkins must follow university COVID-19 policies. See current guidelines online.
