J.A.J. Memorial Poker Tournament
Description
Hosted by the Johns Hopkins Pet and Animal Welfare Society Club, the J.A.J. Memorial Poker Tournament is held in memory of Jonathan Jarzyna KSAS '97, a former Johns Hopkins student who in 2011 passed away from an undiagnosed heart condition just shy of his 38th birthday. After his wife and friends, two of Jon's biggest loves were animals and playing poker.
As a way to honor him and keep his memory alive, seven years ago his friend and classmate Matt Zaft, KSAS '97, decided to sponsor a Jonathan A. Jarzyna Memorial No Limit Texas Hold'em Tournament at Johns Hopkins University. It is a $100 buy-in for alumni ($25 for undergrads), and 100% of the entry fees go to the local MSPCA as a donation in Jon's memory.
A Potbelly catered dinner will be provided.
All in-person events at Johns Hopkins must follow university COVID-19 policies. See current guidelines online.
