Description
The 2022 Northeast Modern Language Association (NeMLA) conference theme is "care." We understand care as the practice of interdependency, admitting our vulnerabilities as humans, animals, and other living organisms of the Anthropocene.
Held at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront, hosted by Johns Hopkins University and presided over by NeMLA President Bernadette Wegenstein (Johns Hopkins professor of cinema and media studies), the convention features an opening event with Valeria Luiselli and a keynote by Judith Butler.
