Description

Join Homewood Student Affairs Women & Gender Resources for a conversation on this year's theme for International Women's Day, "Breaking the Biases," with poet Arao Ameny.

Whether deliberate or unconscious, bias makes it difficult for women to move ahead. Knowing that bias exists isn't enough; action is needed to level the playing field. Arao Ameny is a U.S.-based poet and writer from Lira, Lango region, Uganda, East Africa. She is a former journalist and communications professional. She is interested in writing about immigrants, diaspora, migration, rootlessness, displacement, transition, belonging, identity, and the search for home.
