Description

Please join the Latinx Public Health Network for a hybrid symposium on Indigenous Rights and Environmental Justice.

Given the global rise in assassinations of Indigenous environmental land-defenders on the front lines of the climate crisis, it is a decisive time to provide a platform for Indigenous peoples to communicate priorities for strengthening global environmental justice and health equity.

Honored speakers:

  • Carla García (OFRANEH)
  • Lucía Ana Ixchíu (Festivales Guatemala)
  • Maria Orellana (Provida)

This event is co-sponsored by the Department of Environmental Health and Engineering. Email any questions or comments to pkahn7@jh.edu and pnava2@jh.edu.

All in-person events at Johns Hopkins must follow university COVID-19 policies. See current guidelines online. This is a hybrid event; all attendees should register in advance.
