Dylan Rodriguez, a professor of media and cultural studies at the University of California at Riverside, will give a talk on "'Anti-Asian Violence' in Conditions of (U.S.) Domestic Warfare: Toward an Abolitionist Rethinking of Coalition, Intersection, and Justice" for the Critical Responses to Anti-Asian Violence (CRAAV) Initiative at Johns Hopkins.

Rodriguez is a teacher, writer, and scholarly activist. He was named to the inaugural class of Freedom Scholars in 2020 and served as 2020-2021 president of the American Studies Association. He is the author of three books, most recently White Reconstruction: Domestic Warfare and the Logic of Racial Genocide (Fordham University Press, 2021), and is co-editor of Critical Ethnic Studies: A Reader (Duke University Press, 2016).

Critical Responses to Anti-Asian Violence (CRAAV) is a scholarly and community-oriented initiative to build anti-racist coalitions across Johns Hopkins University and Baltimore. Funding for this initiative has been provided by the SNF Agora Faculty Grants Program.
