Description

The Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowship for New Americans provides two years of funding for study in any graduate program (academic, arts, medical, law, etc.) in the U.S. Students may apply as a college senior, as an alum, or in their first or second year of their graduate program. Applicants must be "new Americans," that is, immigrants to the U.S. or the children of immigrants. Naturalized U.S. citizens, green card holders, U.S. citizens born to non-U.S. citizens, and foreign-born children granted U.S. citizenship as a result of being adopted are eligible to apply. You are also eligible if granted governmental Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) by the application deadline.

Johns Hopkins Scholars and Fellows Programs staff invite current and future potential Soros applicants to attend an information session with 2021 Soros Fellow and 2019 Johns Hopkins graduate Alaleh Azhir, who will talk about her experience with the application process and the fellowship so far. Fellowships advisors will be on hand as well, to discuss the resources available to Johns Hopkins Soros applicants and answer questions.

The Soros application is due on Oct. 28. If you are applying for the Soros, a fellowships advisor can read a draft of your application essays (if submitted by Oct. 19), and you may take advantage of the resources on our Blackboard site for Soros applicants. Please reach out to Scholars and Fellows Programs at nfp@jhu.edu if you plan to apply and would like our assistance.
