Description

Social protection programs are important platforms for delivering nutrition interventions. Many countries have invested in school feeding programs to extend the reach of nutrition-sensitive social protection to children and their families.

Join the Data for Nutrition Community of Practice for "How Can We Measure Nutrition-Sensitive Social Protection? Unpacking Data, Challenges, and Opportunities to Improve Nutrition Through School Feeding Programs," a discussion of the global landscape of school feeding programs and the development of metrics for assessing the coverage of nutrition-sensitive social protection programs. Presentations will showcase examples from the Global Survey of School Meal Programs©. Confirmed speakers include Ayala Wineman, a research coordinator at the Global Child Nutrition Foundation, and Nadia Akseer, an epidemiologist-biostatistician and an assistant scientist at the Bloomberg School of Public Health and with the DataDENT initiative. Q&A moderated by Rebecca Heidkamp, an associate scientist at the Bloomberg School of Public Health and with the DataDENT initiative, will follow presentations.
