Mariam Ayad, an associate professor in the Department of Sociology, Egyptology, and Anthropology at the American University in Cairo, will give the 2021 Anshe Lecture entitled "Women, Literacy, and Access to Knowledge in Ancient Egypt," hosted by the graduate students of the Department of Near Eastern Studies at Johns Hopkins University.
