Overcoming Barriers: A Latinx Story with Dr. Q
Description
Join a fireside chat with Alfredo Quiñones-Hinojosa, a world-renowned Mexican American neurosurgeon who overcame significant barriers to achieve success in the medical community.
His story — illegally migrating to the U.S. at age 19, attending Berkeley University, and earning his medical degree at Harvard University — is one frequently untold. Through facilitated dialogue and student-led discussion, this virtual program celebrates Latinx resilience and examines the barriers to success in the U.S. healthcare system.
This event is hosted by Lambda Epsilon Mu, the Office of Multicultural Affairs, and Heritage365.
