Hard Histories: A Conversation with Martha S. Jones

Eliot A. Cohen, dean of the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, will host Martha S. Jones, acclaimed author, historian, and Johns Hopkins University Society of Black Alumni Presidential Professor, for the Dean's Speaker Series.

Jones, who also directs the Hard Histories at Hopkins project which was launched in 2020, will join Cohen to discuss the project's research examining the role that racism and discrimination have played at Johns Hopkins, including the recent discovery that the university's founder, Johns Hopkins, was a slave owner.
