Douglass Day Transcribe-a-thon
Description
You're invited to a birthday party for Frederick Douglass! This year Douglass Day celebrates the life and activism of Mary Church Terrell (1863-1954), an educator, civil rights activist, and one of the leaders of the women's suffrage movement.
Join the Sheridan Libraries and other groups around the country to transcribe the final section of the Mary Church Terrell Papers using the By the People platform of the Library of Congress. Volunteer transcriptions of historical documents like these make them available to everyone for digital searching, analysis, and future research.
No experience is needed. Drop in at the Zoom meeting, choose a letter or diary entry of Mary Church Terrell's to transcribe, and get help when you need it.
