Description

A panel of scientists discuss the challenges, promises, hopes, and dangers of stem cell research and the exciting new technologies that have enabled us to explore and even alter the building blocks of life itself. This event is hosted by Great Talk and the Alexander Grass Humanities Institute.

Panelists:

  • Eric Green, director of the National Human Genome Research Institute at the National Institutes of Health (NIH)
  • Diane Hoffman, director of the Health and Law Program at the University of Maryland
  • Anthony Wynshaw-Boris, chair of the American Society of Human Genetics and chair of the Department of Genetics and Genome Sciences at the University of Cleveland Medical Center Case School of Medicine
  • Antonio Regalado, senior editor of the MIT Technology Review
  • William Egginton (moderator), professor in the humanities at Johns Hopkins University and director of the Alexander Grass Humanities Institute
