Description

Jeanne-Marie Jackson, assistant professor of English at Johns Hopkins University, will lead a Public Writing Workshop for the Alexander Grass Humanities Institute.

The workshop will focus on two of Jackson's essays: an n+1 essay on recent Zimbabwean writing, "On New Zimbabwean Literature," and an academic essay that proposes a theory of the Zimbabwean novel, "Plurality in Question: Zimbabwe and the Agonistic African Novel," from the journal NOVEL.

The Public Writing Workshop series features scholars who have successfully translated their thought and style to writing for broad public audiences. Over the 2020/2021 academic year, participants will discuss several scholars' writing and the light they shed on the process, the promises, and the pitfalls of writing for public audiences.
